Salman Mohammad Muqtadir, (born August 9, 1993) is a Bangladeshi YouTuber and actor.[2][3][4][5][6][7] He started posting on YouTube in 2012 under the name "SalmoN TheBrownFish" and has subsequently become one of the most popular YouTubers in Bangladesh.[8][9] He is the brand ambassador of a food retail brand called PizzaBurg.[10]

Salman was the first youtuber in Bangladesh to achieve the Golden Creator Award for reaching 1 million subscribers on youtube.

Early life and YouTube career

Salman was born on August 9, 1993. His father is a retired army major and mother is a housewife[11] Salman grew up in a nomad household because of his father's profession. He lived in various parts of Bangladesh and studied in various schools. Salman moved to Sydney, Australia to complete his undergrads but moved back to Bangladesh and got admitted to North South University where he studied for three semesters and dropped out to start focusing on his youtube career.

Salman began posting videos on Facebook before he moved onto YouTube in 2012,[12] creating his channel "SalmoN TheBrownFish", where his comedy sketches became popular. He described his YouTube journey in an interview, stating:

"I did not want to waste my time like others. So I searched YouTube to find some Youtuber in Bangladesh but couldn’t find anyone. That’s when I got the idea that I can be a Youtuber and become the first Bangladeshi content creator".[11]

Legal issues

In 2019, Salman released an erotic music video for his song "Obhodro Prem". The video was criticized as 'vulgar'[13] and Salman was called to the office of the Cyber Crime Unit of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police.[14] After the meeting, Salman temporarily took down his music video.[15] Although he re-uploaded the video later.[citation needed]

Personal life

He is married to Disha Islam a Canadian-Bangladeshi.[16]He has two daughters with her.

Other ventures

Salman has acted in several dramas.[17] In 2020, he released his first book titled 'Behind the Sin', in which he discusses sensitive issues and taboos in Bangladesh.[18] Salman has been also associated with a food establishment called PizzaBurg
