Ido Shahar (also spelled Shachar,[4][5] Hebrew: עידו שחר; born 20 August 2001) is an Israeli professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Israeli Premier League club Maccabi Tel Aviv and the Israel national under-21 team.
Early life
Shachar was born and raised in the kibbutz Gat, Israel,[1] to an Israeli[3] family of Ashkenazi Jewish (Hungarian-Jewish) descent.[6]
He also holds a Hungarian passport, on account of his Ashkenazi Jewish ancestors, which eases the move to certain European football leagues.[6]
